On Thursday, April 18 we were joined by Dr. Leila Brammer, Director of the Parrhesia Program for Public Discourse at the University of Chicago, who gave a talk on fostering open discourse in the classroom.
This speaker event launched our new Productive Tensions: Dialogue, Discourse, and Academic Freedom in the Classroom initiative, through which we plan to invite speakers to campus to collaborate with faculty members, possibly through workshops, lectures, or other forms of engagement, to explore these themes and their implications for teaching and learning.
